We meet every 6 to 8 weeks to discuss events and progress towards Silver Award. Our progress is based on 4 themes

Quarter 1 - Being Sensible with Stuff (January to March)

Did you know that roughly half of our carbon footprint is embedded in the stuff we buy and the things we eat??

So what have we been doing:

• Recycling bins in entrance of the church building for stationery items (such as pens, pencils, crayons)

• Recylathon event held in March about recycling, repairing and re-using. This included tables with various products available that church individuals use, such as bamboo toothbruses, various laundry, detergents and personal hygiene products without the packaging.

• Plant and Seed Swap

Quarter 2 - Nurture Nature (April to June)

• Planting of Sunflower seeds and creation of bird and bug hotels after church services

• ​

Quarter 3 - Thoughtful Travel (July to September)

• Cycling Event held after church services, which saw appearance of Dr Bike and others to help maintain and service individuals bicycles. 16 bikes in total were maintained.

• Police marking cycles for free. 

• Leaflets, posters and information on various cycling activities and benefits.
